Safe Harbor is a faith-based, 501 (c) 3 organization that was founded in 1998 by parents dealing with the uncertainty, tensions and pain generated by the poor personal choices made by their adolescent children. These poor decisions not only create severe problems for the children, with the serious possibility of death, but also result in a family torn apart, on top of, the negative influences placed on younger siblings and friends.

Youth culture, and particularly the internet, offers opportunities for anyone to freely explore and experiment with

• an assortment of drugs, legal and illegal;
• sexual adventures and games;
• participation in gangs and illegal activities;
• alcohol abuse;
• making friends with pedophiles and others;
• sub-culture musical lyrics;
• safety issues dealing with cars;
• availability of illegal substances and recipes to make your own;
• dare games, and;
• general misbehavior which is disruptive to schools, the family and society at large.
